George Nigh Scholarship
The George Nigh Scholarship was established in 1999 to commemorate fifty continuous years of service to Oklahoma Girls State by Governor George Nigh. This scholarship is presented to the Girls State citizen who prepared the best legislation for the Oklahoma Girls State program.
To participate in the opportunity please prepare two type-written copies of legislation, created solely by you, that involves a state issue you find important. Please place a cover page on this legislation with your name, hometown, and the title of your legislation. The legislation will be judged for content, research, and relevancy of topic.
Please bring two copies with you to Oklahoma Girls State and email a copy to Jennifer Shaw at firstname.lastname@example.org.

The Samsung Scholarship was established to show appreciation for United States veterans who came to Korea’s aid during the struggle against communist forces in the Korean War. The winner of this scholarship must be a Girls State participant who is a direct descendant of a wartime veteran who served on active duty during at least one of the periods of war officially designated as eligibility dates for American Legion membership.
